Louis Hengen has seen Washington, D.C. from Capitol Hill to downtown spanning over four years in government related work. He served on the Government Affairs team of the Food Products Association (FPA) in Washington, D.C., the largest food and beverage association in the United States and worldwide, where he was responsible for lobbying Congress and the Administration on food safety and security as well as health and nutrition issues. Through his work at FPA Hengen has built strong relationships with key committees, members and staff dealing with agriculture, health, homeland security, judiciary and telecommunications.

Hengen also managed FPA's political action committee, raising money and supporting industry friendly Congressional candidates. He worked with national and international media outlets translating food science and technical expertise into public policy strategies.

Before joining FPA, Hengen worked as an aide in the Office of the Republican Leader, Senator Trent Lott (R-MS) where he focused on issues specifically related to the Senate Commerce Committee. He has also been an active fundraiser through his work with the Republican National Committee raising funds to support congressional candidates and President Bush in the 2004 election.

Hengen is currently President of the D.C. Chapter of the Ole Miss Alumni Association, a member of the American League of Lobbyists (ALL), and a member of the Capital Club.

Hengen holds a B.A. in Political Science from The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) where he was selected to the Hall of Fame and holds a Master of Arts in Government from Johns Hopkins University, Zanvyl Krieger School of Arts and Sciences.
